My partner, Jim, has just published his first novel, *[Fish Wielder](https://www.amazon.com/Fish-Wielder-J-R-R-R-Jim-Hardison/dp/0996894314/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1473181452&sr=1-1&keywords=fish+wielder&linkCode=sl1&tag=thliofda-20&linkId=ce9de46f652500c12ee7b029b202f45d)*, an “epically silly epic fantasy of epic proportions.” Of course, I urge you to buy it and read it, but that’s not why I’m writing. As part of the PR effort, Jim was invited to write a guest post for the *Writer’s Digest* website. In it, he offers seven serious tips for writing comedy. And since comedy plays such an important role in a lot of brand communication, I thought you might like to see what he has to say about it. Here is the link:

[7 Serious Tips for Writing a Humor-Filled Novel](https://www.writersdigest.com/online-editor/humor-writing-filled-novel%5D)

From my point of view, all seven tips translate directly to the use of humor in advertising and other brand communication. As always, I would love to know what you think.
